How Bower Building collects, uses and looks after your personal information.
Last updated: 27 October 2026
Bower Building ("we", "us") respects your privacy. This policy explains what personal information we collect, why we collect it, and how we handle it. We aim to handle personal information in line with the Australian Privacy Principles in the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth).
What we collect
We only collect information we need to respond to you and to quote, plan and carry out building work. This may include:
- your name, email address, phone number and postal or site address;
- details about your project, such as plans, photos, measurements, budget and timing;
- records of our conversations, quotes, contracts, invoices and payments; and
- basic technical information when you visit our website (for example your IP address, browser type and the pages you view), which our hosting provider uses to keep the site secure and working.
We don't collect sensitive information (such as health information) unless it's genuinely needed and you agree to it. You can contact us anonymously or under a pseudonym for general questions, but we'll need your details to quote or do work for you.
How we collect it
Most information comes directly from you — when you fill in the contact form on this website, email or phone us, message us on Facebook, or meet us on site. Sometimes we receive information from others involved in your project, such as your designer, certifier, or trades and suppliers.
How we use it
- to answer your enquiry and provide quotes;
- to plan, manage and complete your project, including arranging trades, suppliers, approvals and inspections;
- to send invoices, take payments and keep business records;
- to meet our legal, licensing, insurance and warranty obligations; and
- to keep in touch about your project. We won't send you marketing unless you've asked for it, and you can opt out at any time.
Who we share it with
We don't sell your personal information. We only share it where needed to do the job or where the law requires, for example with:
- subcontractors, trades, suppliers, designers and certifiers working on your project;
- local council, the Queensland Building and Construction Commission (QBCC) and other authorities where required;
- our insurers, accountants and professional advisers; and
- the service providers that run our website, email, and quoting or project software.
Some of these providers (such as website hosting and cloud software) may store information on servers outside Australia, including in the United States. We choose reputable providers and take reasonable steps to make sure they protect your information.
Our website
This website is a simple information site. When you submit the contact form, the details you enter (name, email, phone and message) are sent securely to our job-management software so we can reply and keep a record of your enquiry. The site is hosted by Cloudflare, which may log technical information and set strictly necessary cookies for security and spam protection. We don't use advertising cookies.
Keeping it secure
We take reasonable steps to protect your personal information from misuse, loss and unauthorised access, including using password-protected systems and limiting access to people who need it. We keep information only for as long as we need it for the purposes above or as required by law (for example, building and tax record-keeping rules), then securely delete or destroy it.
Accessing or correcting your information
You can ask to access, correct, update or delete the personal information we hold about you. Just get in touch using the details below and we'll respond within a reasonable time, usually within 30 days.
